The international British-American Polar Vision team came together through their mutual connections to the armed services, a shared love of endurance sports and a desire to make a positive difference.

But beyond the challenge of reaching the South Pole, it is the inspiring story of Alan Lock, the first visually impaired person to attempt to cross Antarctica from the coast to the South Pole which drives the team’s effort. In working with Alan, and our partner charities, they hope to make a huge impact to the lives of blind and visually impaired people throughout the US and the developing world.

The team brings a wealth of experience and skills to this challenge, including a successful polar explorer, an Atlantic Ocean rower, and an ultra-marathon athlete.
